Rain improves Dhaka’s air quality after 3 worst days

Dhaka, Oct 10 (UNB) – Bangladesh’s capital saw a significant improvement in the Air Quality Index (AQI) on Thursday morning after it was hit by rain.

Dhaka was at the 40th position in AQI with a score of 65 at 8:21am. The air quality was moderate.

Delhi topped the list of cities with worst air quality with a score of 195. It was followed by Vietnam’s Hanoi and Indonesia’s Jakarta with scores of 186 and 173 respectively.

The AQI, an index for reporting daily air quality, informs people how clean or polluted the air of a certain city is, and what associated health effects might be a concern for them.

When an AQI score is between 51 and 100, sensitive individuals should avoid outdoor activity as they may experience respiratory symptoms.
