Dhaka – Rain is unlikely to affect the Bangladesh’s next ICC World Cup match against West Indies at the Cooper Associates County ground in Taunton on June 17.
The recent weather forecast report suggested that the chance of rain in Taunton on June 17 is 30 percent, less than the current situation.
A record three matches of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England & Wales were abandoned due to rain, also featuring Bangladesh-Sri Lanka match in Bristol on June 11.
The vital World Cup match between two unbeaten teams– India and New Zealand –was also delaying on Thursday (June 13) for the same reason. So, the rain became a big headache in the ongoing World Cup.
Bangladesh have played so far four matches in the ongoing ICC Men’s World Cup in England and Wales where they won one match against South Africa and lost two matches against New Zealand and England before the match against Sri Lanka was washed out.
However, Bangladesh’s next match might not be washed out for the same reason, suggested forecast report.
To qualify for the semifinals, Bangladesh are eagerly waiting to take on West Indies, who have lost three consecutive battles against the Tigers in the tri-series in Ireland right before the World Cup.
Bangladesh team already reached Taunton from Cardiff and they are now waiting to start their training camp from June 14.
The Tigers were given rest on Thursday. They are passing time with their near and dears who are travelling with the team.
Bangladesh started their World Cup aiming a spot in the semifinals.
They won their first match against South Africa that ensured a flying start for the Tigers. But they capitulated in the next two games to New Zealand and England respectively with the last match against Sri Lanka being washed out.UNB
