Riyadh – The Islamic holy month of Ramadan will begin on Saturday, May 27, an Islamic scholar has been quoted as saying.
Saudi publication “Al-Madina” cited Sheikh Abdullah Bin Sulaiman Al-Manie, a member of the country’s Council of Senior Scholars, for the date.
He said Ramadan would last 29 days with the fasting month ending on Saturday, June 24, and Eid Al-Fitr taking place the next day on June 25.
Al-Manie’s statements were based on astronomical calculations.
He added that the month of Haj would begin on Wednesday, August 23, and last 29 days.
Arafat Day will take place on Thursday, August 31, and Eid Al-Adha on Friday, September 1, according to the report, according to media reports.
