Dhaka – Environment and Forest Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud informed the Parliament that Rampal Coal Power plant has not got final approval as yet.The minister came up with the assertion while answering queries of a lawmaker during session of parliament on Sunday.
Hasan Mahmud said, “the Department of environment is surveying the consequences of the thermal plant to figure out environmental degradation to reduce it in a minimum scale and the final approval will come after the assessment.”
He also said, “Building a power plant with conventional method could be harmful, but a modernised method is less risky for the environment.”
