The first schedule of Yash Raj’s next project mega project Shamshera is all set to go on floors in Mumbai on Friday. A traditional puja took place on the set first along with the cast and crew of the film, a custom that way started by Late Yash Chopra and is continued even today. The pooja was attended Ranbir Kapoor, director of the movie Karan Malhotra and Vaani Kapoor. While Sanjay Dutt could not make it due to prior work commitments.
Vaani Kapoor will be seen playing Ranbir Kapoor’s love interest in the film. Ranbir delivered the first hit of his career with Bachna Ae Haseeno, a Yash Raj Production and was later seen in the critically acclaimed Rocket Singh: Salesman of the year. And now, he be returning to YRF after nine years with Shamshera. Director Karan Malhotra spoke about how excited he is to begin on this journey with the amazing cast. He said, “It was amazing to have Shamshera’s cast and crew under one roof before we dive into shooting our film. All of us are excited to start this journey.”
With Shamshera, it’ll be the first time we will see Ranbir Kapoor in a period drama and he is expected to be rocking a totally different avatar in the film. The movie’s shoot is expected to wrap up by mid-2019.
