Rangpur road construction inaugurated

Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu has directed all concerned for ensuring quality of the infrastructural development works in the city.
Jhantu said this while launching construction of the concrete road from Koilashranajan High School to Islampur Mandir area under Ward No-23 in the city by cutting ribbon at a ceremony there on Thursday afternoon as the chief guest.Construction of the road is being implemented under the phase-wise construction packages of 142 separate roads, drains, culverts, drainage systems and other works under 142 groups at the cost of Taka 33 crore in the city at own resources of the RCC.
With RCC Councilor Sekendar Ali (Ward No-23) in the chair, Superintending Engineer of RCC Emdad Hossain and its Executive Engineer Azam Ali attended the ceremony as the special guests.
Joint Secretary of city unit of Shop Owners’ Association Moazzem Hossain Mithu, President of District Crockery Association Ali Hossain Mollah, General Secretary of City Bazar Traders’ Association Haji Mostafa Kamal, note businessman Nur Alam Chand and contractor Tazul Islam were also present.
While addressing the ceremony, the Mayor said the infrastructural uplift works are being implemented as per a master plan in the city corporation area for turning Rangpur building an eco-friendly, well- planned, modern, traffic- jam free and beautiful city.
He said every city dweller along with the people of the region would be benefited as traffic-jam situation would improve significantly in the city after completion of the massive infrastructural development works in future.
Jhantu called upon the local citizens to extend cooperation for smooth implementation of construction works of the roads, bridges, culverts, sewerage and drainage systems and water and electricity supply lines ensuring the best quality works.
