Dhaka – CM Mahtabuddin Robin clinched the Quality Ice Cream International Rapid Rating Chess title with unbeaten record securing eight points from nine matches that ended here in Chittagong on Monday.FM Fahad Rahman finished runner-up collecting 7.5 points from nine encounters.Six players — CM Sohel Chowdhury, Subrota Biswas, Moinuddin Ahmed, Abu Hanif, Naim Haque and Tajul Islam — shared 3rd to 8th places securing seven points each.Besides, FM Tanima Parvin, Aqib Jawad and Rifatuddin Elahi were adjudged best players in female, Under-16 and non-rated categories respectively.General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation Syed Shahabuddin Shamim, who is also the additional general secretary of CJKP, was the chief guest at the closing function and later he distributed the prizes.Deputy Managing Director of the meet’s sponsor Sanowara Group Zahedul Islam was also present as a special guest.A total of 149 players, including four FMs, two CMs, one woman FM and 45 rated players, took part in the biggest chess tournament in Chittagong.UNB news agency
