Razzak first Bangladeshi to bag 400 wickets in List-A cricket

Dhaka – As the first Bangladeshi, veteran spinner Abdur Razzak completed 400 wickets in List-A cricket on Wednesday at Shere-Bangla-National Cricket Stadium after his team Prime Bank Cricket Club beat Uttara Sporting Club by 57 runs in DL method.

It was the fifth win of Prime Bank in six rounds of the ongoing season of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) which helped them to clinch the second position in the points table. On the other hand, Uttara suffered fifth loss of the season to drop into the last position on the table.

In the rain-hit game, Uttara won the toss and decided to bowl first. Rain came to the scene at 10:42am when Prime Bank posted 98 runs in 22.3 overs by losing three wickets.

The game was resumed again at 1:15pm after being reduced to 38 overs each side. Prime Bank accumulated 230 runs for seven wickets in 38 overs. Prime Bank captain Anamul Haque, who hit three centuries on the trot as the second Bangladeshi batsman in List-A Cricket, fell for 36 this time.

Al Amin was the best batsman for them scoring 60 while Salman Hossain hit 37 and Abhimanyu Easwaran posted 35 for them as well.

For Uttara, Anisul Islam Emon bagged three wickets while Asaduzzaman Payel scalped two wickets.

In reply, Uttara managed to score 182 for eight wickets in 38 overs and lost the match by 57 runs according to the DL method.

Tanzid Hasan (35), Anisul (33), Mohimenul Khan (30) and Sheikh Humayun (39) batted well but that was not enough well to register the second win for their team in the ongoing league.
