Dhaka – Newly reduced prices of different petroleum products are set to take effect at the stroke of midnight Sunday, zero hour on Monday, unb news agency reported.State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid confirmed this on Sunday while talking to reporters at his ministry.
“The lowered price will be effective from zero hour on Monday. A gazette notification is being prepared to make it public,” he told reporters.
Hamid did not provide any details on the new prices today. Ministry sources said prices would be going down for mainly diesel, kerosene, octane and petrol.
On April 13 however, when Hamid first announced the forthcoming price cuts, the indication was that prices of octane and petrol will be lowered by Tk 10-15 and that of diesel and kerosene by Tk 4-5.
Last month, the price of furnace oil was lowered by Tk 18, almost 30 percent.
