Pakistan batsman Misbah-ul-Haq hit 61 off 39 balls to lead Rangpur Riders to a two-wicket victory over Chittagong Vikings in the opening match of the Bangladesh Premier League’s third edition at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.Chasing 188, Rangpur Riders lost four wickets, with just 23 runs on the board, but Misbah and Thisara Perera, who slammed 43 off 17, pulled off a gigantic task.Darren Sammy’s 18 from the last 7 balls also proved vital as Vikings’s Pakistan bowler Mohammad Amir’s four-wicket haul went in vain.Earlier, Chittagong made 188 thanks to Tamim Iqbal’s 51 and Jeevan Mendis’s 18-ball 39. Anamul Haque also hit 36.The 41-one-year old Pakistani batsman, Misbah, who hit three fours and four sixes, was duly adjudged the Man of the Match.
