The workers of a readymade garment (RMG) factory at Jamgara in Ashulia area of the upazila at the outskirts of the capital put up a barricade on Abdullahpur-Bipile road Monday, following the death of a fellow worker in a road accident in the area.The angry workers also damaged a number of vehicles and set ablaze three human haulers.
Officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station Mohsinul Kabir said a speeding bus ran over Fulbanu, an operator of Palmal Garments at Jamgara. while she was going to her work station at about 8:30 am, leaving her dead on the spot.
As the news spread, workers of the factory took to the street and put up a barricade, snapping the vehicular movement.
On information, police rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the demonstrating garment workers
