Rajshahi – The written test for admission to the first year honours classes under A and E units of Rajshahi University (RU) for the academic sessions of 2017-18 was held on Sunday. The exams were held in 5 shifts from 08.30am to 04.30pm.Meanwhile, 1 person was arrested for forgery. The detained person appeared in the admission test to give a proxy for another.
The detained man was identified as Rabiul Islam hailing from Chandra area of Jamalpur. Some 33 thousand 680 applicants appeared in the tests against 941 seats of A unit and 41 thousand 232 against 748 seats of E unit.
Some BCL leaders and activists brought out a welcome procession at the campus infringing university rule on the day.
Some students could not take part in the exam due to Traffic Jam problem.
This year a total of 316,120 students have applied for 4,700 seats taken part in the tests under the 9 Faculties. – RU Correspondent
