Rajshahi, March 30 – Rajshahi University employees on Monday staged a demonstration and locked up the administration building of the university demanding soft loan on 5 pc interest and transfer of the deputy manager of the accounts department. They took position in front of the admin building at around 8 am.
President of assistant employees association Sabbir Hossain said that they have been demanding loan on soft terms of 5 pc to 9 pc interest for a long time. The Vice-chancellor gave them assurance but did not fulfil the demand.
VC gave us a week. We are here for not seeing any step to realize the demand, he said.
Trade Union general secretary Abdul Aziz said, the deputy manager of the accounts department Ansari misbehaved with the employees when they went to talk about the loan.
University proctor professor Lutfor Rahman said, the employees are making some demands. It is not possible to meet all the demands at a time. We will try to solve those as early as possible. – RU Correspondent
