Dhaka, Oct 01 – An audio call record of pro-vice chancellor of Rajshahi University (RU) and a student of law department hasgone viral on social media, Facebook over recruitment of teacher and taking bribes from an applicant. The students and teachers raised question how it is possible among them and they also launched for going protest movement concerned the matter. On the other hand, university authority said it that the published record is partial and edited. Few persons are working behind it for giving falls allegation and making propaganda and even they are doing conspiracy against university administration
A call audio record of a pro vice chancellor of Rajshahi University (RU) has been published on recruitment business as bribe over recruiting teachers of law department of the campus.
The call record came to Journalists on Monday night where university pro vice chancellor Prof Dr Chawdhury Md Zakaria and wife of job a seeker paltering over the amount of bribe money. Pro vice chancellor Prof Dr Chawdhury Md Zakaria was member of selection committee of law dept teacher’s recruitment recently held of viva board at university vice chancellors resident.
On the record university pro vice chancellor are paltering with a job seeker’s wife. Job seeker is a teacher of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) and they talked for job instead of huge amount of money as bribe.
After publishing the record, criticizing the university pro vice chancellor, many students and teachers posted their on social media, Facebook wall. Besides, the teachers and students of RU launched several series program protesting for slogan of vice chancellor Prof Dr M Abduls Siobhan ‘Jai Hind’ after ‘Jay Bangle and Jay Banglabandhu’ at an international conference held on the campus while UGC chairman Prof Shahidullah was present chief gust and another, for irregularities on job recruitment on the campus by pro vice chancellor.
Sources said, earlier, law dept circulated to recruit as assistant/ lecturer against three vacant posts and applicants are asked to submit their applications who have minimum CGPA 3.25 and 3.50 in honors and master’s degrees respectively. Against the three posts, 41 applicants applied and among them, nine candidates’ submitted relevant papers who had secured above CGPA 3.50 in honors and master’s degrees respectively and rest of them were under CGPA 3.50 in both courses.
On 13 November, 2018, viva voce held at university vice chancellor Prof Dr M Abdus Sobhan house and published result on 18 November.
Nurul Huda was one of them who completed his honors and master degrees under academic session 2010-11 securing CGPA 3.65 and 3.50 in honors and masters course respectively. Even, Nurul Huda got golden award from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for securing highest CGPA form law dept and he is resident of Lalmonirhat and pro vice chancellor also hailed from same district. – Staff Reporter
