Rajshahi, Jan 12 – Rajshahi University Chemistry Department Chairman Professor Dr Md Akhter Farooque (61) died on Tuesday dawn at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Chemistry department professor Dr Md Belayet Hossain Howlader confirmed this and said, Farooque Akhter, last night suddenly fell sick in his Dhaka’s residence. After being brought to the hospital doctors declared him dead.
Chemistry department section officer Md Sirajul Islam was with him at the time of his death. He said I came with Farooque sir at his Dhaka’s residence. His wife was in Rajshahi. He suddenly fell sick at around 12.00 am. He was suffering from asphyxia. I called his wife and one of his nephews and then I took him to the hospital. Farooque sir vomited once. After taking him to the hospital doctor declared him dead.
Professor Farooque Akhter’s dead body scheduled to be taken to his village home at Thakurgaon at around 11.00 am, he added. – RU Correspondent
