Rajshahi, April 04 – Rajshahi University Teachers Association has announced a decision to provide one day’s salary to help the helpless and poor people in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. General Secretary of the association Professor Ashraful Alam Khan on Friday told this to journalists. He said everybody is in-home lockdown due to prevent the spread of coronavirus. But those people, who live from hand to mouth are helpless now. So, we decided to provide our 1 day’s salary to them. There are around 1200 teachers in the university. Most of the teachers agreed to provide the money. The rests will give their opinions soon.
The money will be taken from the university authority and will be deducted from their next four months’ salary, he added. – RU Correspondent
