RUJA holds discussion meeting on Dr. Zoha

Rajshahi, Feb 17 – Rajshahi University Journalist Association (RUJA) on Wednesday arranged a discussion program marking the death anniversary (February 18) of the first martyred intellectual of Bangladesh Dr. Shamsuzzoha at the Botany department of the university. February 18 is observed every year as Teachers’ Day at the university.
Addressing the program the then student leader Ruhul Amin Pramanik said, teachers call the day Teachers’ Day but we know the day as Teachers-Students’ day. We want the day to be acknowledged not only in Bangladesh but also internationally. Dr. Zoha was a very popular teacher at that time, but no institution except Rajshahi University observes the day.
RUJA president Shahin Alam presided over the programme. General secretary Nuruzzaman Khan and member Razia Sultana Parul conducted the program while RU proctor professor Lutfor Rahman, Mass Communication and Journalism department assistant professor Mamun Abdul Kaioum, RUJA former president Mustafiz Rony, RU BCL organizing secretary Mehedi Hasan Mishu, Biplobi Chatra Moitri RU unit general secretary Ranju Hasan and managing director of Hello Rajshahi mango Shafiul Antikam spoke on the occasion.
