Runa Laila in her fifty-two year long career in music industry has taken up composing for the first time. The actress has left her mark as an iconic sub-continental singer in both films and stage performances. But now after almost five decades she has composed a song at the request of her husband, Alamgir. Actor-turned-filmmaker Alamgir will use the song in his upcoming film “Ekti Cinemar Golpo.” Alamgir’s daughter Akhi Alamgir has sung the song, which has already been recorded. It has been written by Gazi Mazharul Anowar. It is a classical song and Runa claims that it may become a milestone. The song is about the facts of life where death comes one day and hints at the fact that all should get enough done before this very day. It is played by acoustic instruments as required by Runa from her husband. The film will start with shooting from September 9 at BFDC.
Composing is the toughest part of making music, thinks Runa. That is why she has given all she can to make her first composition a future hit. Akhi also has sung brilliantly from the beginning to the end, Runa says. Akhi said that she felt nervous at first since she had to sing classical but as she had general ideas about the genre she did not feel dissuaded. After the recording she claims both her father, Alamgir and Runa were crying hugging one another. Runa has taught her many singing tricks to Akhi through this record that has changed her overall singing pattern. The song will be lip synced by Rituporna says Alamgir.
