Dhaka – Five players are sharing the top slot in the Open Section of the 1st SAARC Chess (Open & Women’s) Championships-2019 securing full three points after the 3rd round matches held at FARS Hotel & Resort in the capital on Wednesday.
They are: GM Enamul Hossain Razib, IM Mohammad Nubairshah Shaikh of India, IM Prantik Roy of India, IM Abu Sufian Shakil and IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman.
Ten players are sharing the 2nd position with 2.5 points each.
They are: GM Ziaur Rahman, GM Mahmood Lodhi of Pakistan, FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed, FM Khandaker Aminul Islam, FM Mehdi Hasan Parag, Anata Choudhury, CM Manon Reja Neer, Uten, Md. Sagar and Sourath Biswas of India.
WIM Rani Hamid and Dahampriya Dewnethmie of Sri Lanka are dominating the Women’s section of the meet collecting full 3 points each at the end of the 3rd rounds.
WIM Sharmin Sulatan Shirin is in the 2nd slot with 2.5 points.
Eight players are sharing the 3rd position securing two points each.
They are: WFM Zakia Sultana, WCM Sharmin Samiha Shimmi, Nusrat Jahan Alo, Ahmed Walijah, WCM Jannatul Ferdous, Kiswara Shajrin Evana, Shrestha Surai and Aeon Sarker.
In the 3rd round matches of Open Section, GM Razib beat FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, IM Nubairshah beat CM Md. Sahrif Hossain, IM Prantik beat CM Subrota Biswas, IM Fahad beat Abdul Momin, IM Shakil got walk-over against Md. Sariatullah, FM Amin drew with Uten, FM Parag drew with Sagar, Sourath drew with FM Mohammad Abdul Malek, GM Zia beat Delwar Hossain, IM Lodhi beat Tahsin Tajwar Zai, Anata beat CM Mohammad Hasan of Maldives, FM Nasir beat Md. Matiur Rahman Mamun, CM Manon beat FM Mohammad Javed, Waqar Ahmad Madni drew with IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin.
In the 3rd round matches of Women’s Section, WIM Rani Hamid beat WFM Zakia, Dahampriya beat WCM Shimmi, WIM Shirin beat WFM Nazrana Khan Eva, Alo beat Wadifa Ahmed, Walijah beat Warsia Khusbu, WCM Jannatul beat Arisha Hossain Tuba, Evana beat Tasmin Sultana, Shrestha Surai beat Thakur Jania Haque and Aeon beat Nafisa Nusrat Zahan.
