Dhaka – Defending champions Saif Sporting Club and Bangladesh Police maintained their lead in the Walton Refrigerator Premier Division Chess League securing 10 points each after the 5th round matches at the NSC Tower Auditorium here on Wednesday.
Bangladesh Navy and Uttara Central Chess Club are in the 2nd slot collecting eight points each.
In the day’s 5th round matches, Bangladesh Police beat Sheikh Russel Chess Club by 4-0 game points, Saif Sporting Club defeated Access Chess Club by 3-1 games points, Bangladesh Navy outplayed Janata Bank Officer Welfare Society by 4-0 game points, Uttara Central Chess Club defeated Titas Club by 2.5-1.5 game points, Bangladesh Biman beat Sonali Bank Sports & Recreation Club by 3-1 game points while Sultana Kamal Smirity Pathagar defeated Sonargaon Chess Club by 2.5-1.5 game points.
The 6th round matches will be held on Thursday from 3:pm at the same venue.UNB
