Saif SC blank Uttor Baridhara 3-0 in Fed. Cup Football

DHAKA – Saif Sporting Club made an auspicious start in the Federation Cup Football tournament beating Uttor Baridhara Club by 3-0 goals in their opening group B match held today at Bangabandhu National Stadium here.

Uttor Baridhara’s Mahmood scored an own goal while foreign recruit Kenneth and Foysal scored one goal each to ensure Saif’s facile victory.

The first half of the match was locked goalless though both the teams failed to take the lead despite creating some scoring chances.

After the resumption, Uttor Baridhara’s Mahmood made a hara-kiri as he sent the ball to his own net in the 49th minute of the match.

Foreign recruit Kenneth doubled the lead for Saif scoring the second goal in the 63rd minute while Foysal sealed the victory for Saif in the 70th minute of the match.

Saif Sporting Club dominated the entire proceeding, especially in the second half, and notched their deserving victory while Uttor Baridhara were totally off-colored on the day.

Saif Sporting Club and Uttor Baridhara Club will play their next group matches against Brothers Union Club and Arambagh Krira Sangha respectively on December 26.
