The Saraswati Puja was celebrated here with pomp and gaiety and due religious fervor on Tuesday.
Hundreds of people of Hindu community especially students offered the puja seeking lessings of the goddess Saraswati, who is known as “goddess of learning”, by visiting different tastefully decorated make-shift puja mandaps at different educational institutions and temples since the morning.Many colourful images of goddess Saraswati were erected at different temples and make-shift puja mandaps in different educational institutions of the district town.The biggest colourful puja mandap was erected at the Netrakona government university college premises under theauspices of the college students.To mark the occasion, a special get-together of local elite, public representatives and government officials was held on the college campus.Deputy Commissioner Abul Kalam Azad, police super ZakirM Hussain Khan, Mayor of Netrakona municipality Prasanta Ray and principal of the college Mahbubur Rahman were, among others, attended the function. -BSS, Netrakona
