The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has just made its record breaking number of invites to new members last night. The whopping list of 928 new members includes names like Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Manish Malhotra, Ali Fazal along with many more.The Academy since 2014 has been on a directive to include more members from different countries to maintain a diversity and last year a total of 774 new members were added. The invites are sent out according to the contribution a public figure has made in the field of cinema. The full Academy Awards jury then casts a vote on which the year’s winners are decided.
Other names like Dangal editor Ballu Saluja, Dolly Ahluwalia, cinematographer Anil Mehta, Madhabi Mukherjee, Subrata Chakraborty and Amit Ray are also added for the technical expertise in the field, reports internet.
