Sherpur – Sherpur District team reached the final of the Mymensingh Division of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup (U-17) Football Tournament eliminating Netrokona District team by 2-1 goals at the Rofiquddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Monday.
Earlier, State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid MP inaugurated the Mymensingh Divisional phase of the Bangabandhu and Bangamata Gold Cup Football Tournaments.
In the day’s keenly contested match, Tajuddin put Sherpur ahead in the 22nd minute by a spectacular shot outside from the danger zone (1-0) while Towfiq restored the parity for Netrokona in the 43rd minute (1-1).Striker Rabbi scored the match-winning goal for Sherpur in the 60th minute of the match (2-1).UNB
