The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday filed two cases against two upazila parishad and union parishad members in Sherpur for embezzling government relief and rice.
ACC Assistant Director of Tangail office Atiqul Islam filed the cases with its Sherpur coordinated office.According to one of the cases, Sultan, member of Nakla upazila parishad, in connivance with a local embezzled 300 kgs of rice meant for the poor under the social safety net programme.
Sultan Member and Abu Bakar of Madhyabhog village were made accused in the case.As per the other case, member of Malizikandi union parishad in Jhenaigati upazila misappropriated government rice and other relief materials.
