Ferry services on the Shimulia-Kawarakandi route in the Padma river remained suspended for four hours till this morning. Shekhar Chadra Roy, assistant manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Shimulia ghat, said they suspended ferry services and plying of other water vessels on the route at about 5:30 am due to thick fog.Nine ferries with a large number of vehicles and passengers were kept anchored in the mid-river.
