Shooting of ‘Ityadi’ in Bandarban

Over the last couple of years, popular variety show ‘Ityadi’ has been under the camera at different historic places. The latest episode of the show was shot on November 16 in the picturesque of remote Hilly District of the country named Bandarban. It is one of the three hilly districts of Bangladesh and a part of the Chittagong Hill Tracts region, surrounded by beautiful rivers, mountains and natural fountains. During the shooting, the locals had a field day. According to the ‘Ityadi’ team, thousands of people enjoyed the shooting which started at 4pm and lasted till 10pm.
Wherever ‘Ityadi’ team goes, it highlights the historical and cultural significance of that area. Keeping up with this trend, this episode will emphasise the cultural and historical aspects of Bandarban through projecting documentary and various other segments. Several skits of the show are based on local culture and tradition of Bandarban. There are many far flung areas in Bandarban where television camera had never reached before. The ‘Ityadi’ team in association of The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) went to many such places and captured some exclusive footage for the viewers.
Chanchal Kanti Chakma — a man belonging to an ethnic group will share a poignant story with the viewers in this episode.
In 2011, ‘Ityadi’ aired an inspiring documentary on late Dr Edric Baker from New Zealand, who was a supreme example of selflessness and established Kailakuri Health Care Centre in Tangail to treat poor patients there. After his demise in 2015, a couple named Jason and Marindi are carrying on the legacy forward and there will be a documentary in this episode on them.
There is also an awareness building documentary on some of the famous beaches of the world. The foreign segment zooms in on the state of Tamil Nadu in India. Mamallapuram — a town in Tamil Nadu has some magnificent monuments and there will be a documentary on it.
This episode of ‘Ityadi’ boasts with two songs. Marma singer Man Man Singh and renowned singer Akhi Alamgir gives vocals to a duet song which is written by Mohammad Rafiquzzaman, tuned by Hanif Sanket and composed by Mehedi. There is another patriotic song which depicts the abundant natural beauty of Bandarban. This song is also written by Mohammad Rafiquzzaman, tuned by Hanif Sanket and composed by Mehedi. Hundreds of dance artistes from 11 minority and ethnic groups of the Bandarban have taken part in this beautifully choreographed dance number.
Besides regular invited guest segment, Nani-Nati and various other comedy skits promise to provide viewers with ample food for thoughts. Art direction for the show has been given by Mukimul Anwar Mukim as usual.
