Shooting, Victory Day celebrations stalled in honour of Amjad Hossain

Shooting of films have been stalled till December 17 at FDC to pay respect to the recently demised filmmaker Amjad Hossain. Shooting of two films were going on when the news of Amjad Hossain’s death first broke out. The films are Noim Imtiaz Neyamul’s ‘Jam’ and Mohammad Aslam’s ‘Pritoshodher Agun’. General Secretary of Bangladesh Chalachitra Shilpi Samity or Bangladesh Film Actors’ Association, Zayed Khan said, “Though Amjad Hossain was not a member of our association he is our torchbearer. Because of him our industry got sky-reaching popularity. To pay respect to him we have halted our activities.”
It has also been revealed that actors’ association had organised cultural programme to celebrate today’s Victory Day. But even this programme has been called off.
Amjad Hossain passed away on December 14 at Bangkok’s Bamrungrad International Hospital. It has been revealed that his dead body will be brought to the country within today or tomorrow.
