Siddikur ends Manila Masters on joint 70th

Dhaka- Bangladesh’s golfer Siddikur Rahman finished joint 70th in the $1 million Resorts World Manila Masters after the final round at Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club in Philippine on Sunday.Siddikur moved three steps up in the 4th round from joint 71st place, carding one-under-par 71 on the final day where he traded two birdies against one bogies.Siddikur aggregated one-under-par 287 and stayed 18 shots behind the title winner Micah Lauren Shin (USA) who defeated Thailand’s Arnond Vongvanij at the first play-off hole, breaking the tie of a 19-under-par 269 in regulation play.At the first play-off hole on the par-five 18, 20-year-old Shin gained the early advantage by finding the fairway with his tee shot while Arnond’s landed in the left rough.After getting onto the green in three, Arnond missed his seven-foot birdie putt while Shin made no mistake in sinking his from inside four feet to win his maiden Asian Tour title.Siddikur started the day with even-par 216, scoring two-over-par 74, one-over-par 73 and three-under-par 69 in the 3rd, 2nd and 1st rounds respectively.UNB news agency
