Siddikur narrowly passes cut round of Manila Masters

Dhaka – Bangladesh’s celebrity golfer Siddikur Rahman has stayed in the race of the $1 million Resorts World Manila Masters sharing the 64th place after the second round at Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club in Philippine on Friday.The two-time Asian Tour winner Siddikur aggregated two-under-par 142 and stayed 10 shots back of the joint leaders Arnond Vongvanij and Phachara Khongwatmai of Thailand and Justin Quiban of Philippine.Siddikur started the day with his previous collection of three-under-par 69 and carded one-over-par 73 trading three birdies against two bogies and one double bogey on the day.Siddikur slipped 43 steps down from the joint 25th slot to the bottom 64th which he shared with 12 other golfers.Siddikur played two successive bogey-free sessions — both in first 9s — in the 1st and 2nd rounds.On Thursday Siddikur was flawless with a birdie in the 4th hole and was upbeat on Friday with two birdies putting the 2nd and 3rd holes of the first 9.He was found bogies to putt the 10th and 13th and suffered a double bogey in the 15th before back with a birdie in the 17th hole to an end of the depressing second round.UNB news agency
