Smith ton helps Australia to victory

Australian all rounder Steven Smith scored a crucial century against South Africa. It helped Australia to win the series with one match still to be played. Australia was 98 for 5 at once stage chasing 268 for victory. But his run a ball partnership of 121 runs with Mathew Wade gave his side a chance of winning.

Wade scored 52 runs. After that partnership some powerful hitting by James Faulkner took Australia to victory. Australia won the match by 3 wickets. This is also their first win against South Africa at Melborne Cricket Ground. Batting first South Africa was in a good position to get a big score but once they lost the wicket of AB de Villiers who scored 91, they lost their way.
