Social Leadership Challenge workshop held at EWU

Dhaka, Feb 17 (UNB) – With a view to engaging students in bringing out solutions for several socio-economic problems facing society, a workshop was held at city’s East West University (EWU) on Sunday.

‘Socio Leadership Challenge (SLC) season 2’ arranged by Rotaract Club of East West University (RACEWU) is an intra-university idea generating competition with the purpose of engaging the young students in social problems and how to solve them. The workshop served as a prep-talk for the participants from the university.

Kashfia Farhin, Manager of Inclusive Bangladesh Development and a former student of EWU said the challenges students will face in the competition are comparable to those they will face in a real world environment.

“The ultimate goal of the competition for you is to come up with the most realistic solutions possible,” she added.

Another former student, Wahid Hossain, who is also the Founder and CEO of TigerBow, shared his insights on how to become a successful entrepreneur by managing socio-economic aspects.

Event moderator Mustafa Nizamul Aziz, Senior Lecturer at EWU, wished all the contestants success and hoped to see them utilise their experiences in national and international grounds.

Students in teams will solve cases handed out to them based on real world situations. By assessing these problems they will have to submit solutions for them.

62 teams will compete in the first round of SLC season 2 which will end on February 20. The curtain will fall on March 3 after the final round.
