Popular Bollywood playback singer Sonu Nigam has revealed that he was hospitalized in Mumbai earlier this week due to an allergic reaction from seafood.
Sonu recovered by Tuesday for a concert in Orissa, and advised fans to “never ever ever ever take a chance with allergies.”
The “Kal Ho Na Ho” singer took to Instagram to post two images of himself. Along with the pictures he wrote:
“Thanks for your concern and love. Now that you know that I am returning back from Jeypore Orissa after managing a concert last night, I now don’t mind sharing how I was the day before yesterday.”
Sonu wrote on Instagram: “Lesson for all of us, never ever ever ever take a chance with allergies. Seafood in my case. If Nanavati Hospital wasn’t nearby, my trachea would have swollen up further and led to asphyxiation.”
Sonu also wished his fans and well-wishers a “happy and healthy life.”
Last time Sonu came into the media spotlight was when he received backlash for defending music composer Anu Malik, an alleged sexual harasser.
“The torture, harassment, can happen anywhere. It happens in the corporate world, too. You have accused him, you have shamed him; now don’t punish his family. Get proof first,” Sonu said regarding the matter.
