Special Chess: Syed Ejaz Hussain takes solo lead in open section

Dhaka- Syed Ejaz Husain of BRAC University took solo lead in the open section of the Walton Special Chess Tournament for visually challenged players securing full five points from the 5th round matches at the Chess Federation hall room on Tuesday.
Rebeka Mushi Sima of Dhaka dominated the women’s section of the meet collecting full four points from four matches at the same venue on Tuesday.Sajib Chowdhury of Bangla College is in the 2nd slot in open section bagging 4.5 points after 5th round of the meet, organised by the National Fellowship for the Advancement of Visually Handicapped (NFAVH).Four players shared the 3rd position securing 4 points each in open section. They are: Monir Rana of Chittagong University, Idris Ali of Mymensing, Faruk Mia of Dhaka University and S M Shahin of Dhaka.Asma Amin of Badrubnessa College is in the 2nd slot of women’s group with 3.5 points while Sonia Khatun of Badrubnessa College is in the 3rd position with 3 points.The 3rd, 4th and 5th round matches of open section and 3rd and 4th round matches of women’s section were held on Tuesday.The 6th and last round games of open section and the 5th and last round games of women’s section will be held on Wednesday from 11 am at the same venue.The prize-distribution ceremony of the event will start from 3 pm on the day after the matches.UNB news agency
