Sri Lanka A takes lead as match heading for a draw

Dhaka — Sri Lanka A took a 64-run against Bangladesh A team on the 3rd day of the ongoing four-day match on Sunday that almost heading for a draw at Hambantota in Sri Lanka. The 2nd string Bangladesh team resumed the first innings Sunday morning with overnight total 283 for 6 and were all out for 330 runs in 83.1 overs.

Overnight batsman Mehidy Hasan Miraz (6) contributed 30 runs off 61 balls hitting three fours and one six, apart from 117 runs by captain Mominul Haque and 77 runs by Shadman Islam, scored on the 2nd day (Saturday).

M Shiraz captured five wickets for 63 runs while NGRP Jayasuiya took three for 11 4 runs.Sri Lanka, which scored 268 runs in the first innings against Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s devastating bowling of seven wicket haul on Saturday, Sunday scored 126 runs for no loss in 38 overs in the 2nd innings at the end of day three to take a 64 runs lead with Pathum Nissanka and Sangeeth Cooray were in batting with 75 and 55 runs respectively.

It means the match is almost heading for draw on the 4th and final day (Monday). The first match of the series also ended in draw.Right after the two four-day games, both teams will face each other in a three-match one-day series.

The matches of one-day series will be held on October 9, 10 and 12. The first two games will be played at Hambantota and the last match will take place in Colombo.UNB
