Srijit Mukherji, the famed Indian filmmaker is set to come before Dhaka audience with two of his films. The two films are ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’ and ‘Uma.’ The films have been selected for the upcoming Dhaka International Film Festival. The seventeenth edition of the festival will start from January 10 and run till January 18.
The festival would include eight categories. Srijit’s film ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’ would be screened under the ‘Asian Film Competition’ category.
The other film ‘Uma’ would be screened in the ‘Cinema of the World’ category. Jishu Sengupta has acted in both the films.
The 51-year old filmmaker from Kolkata started his career in 2010 with the film ‘Autograph’. In India’s 61st National Film Award his film ‘Jatismar (2014)’ bagged four awards while in the next edition his film ‘Chatushkon (2014)’ won the best director and best screenplay award. According to Wikipedia till 2017 he has made eleven films.
