DHAKA – State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell MP today for the first time distributed monthly sports allowance among the eighty five insolvent athletes through a programme held today at conference room of National Sports Council here.
The State Minister for Sports will provide a total of Taka two crore and seventy six lacs among the 1,150 insolvent athletes as a monthly sports allowance in 2019-20 financial year. The State Minister today distributed the monthly sports allowance cheqque to insolvent and poor athletes as a part of this distribution programme.

Since its inception, the institution has been working tirelessly for the welfare of the athletes as well as to alleviate poverty in order to implement the cherished dream of the Father of the Nation.
The athletes, who are contributing notably in sports or already contributed, have been encouraging those athletes or their family members by providing a one-time monthly allowance.
Besides, this foundation has been providing financial support to the players for the improved treatment.
The State Minister also thanked the Prime Minister for her entire patron in the sports field.
It can be mentioned that a total of 5,449 athletes received Taka nine crore, eleven lacs and thirty five thousand as one-time financial grant or monthly allowance from Bangabandhu Krirashebi Kalyan Foundation so far.
