DHAKA, Sept 1, 2020 (BSS) – Country’s both the stocks registered gentle correction today ending the winning streak of last fourth sessions as risk-averse investorsrushed for profit booking.
At the premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the broad index, DSEX settled at 4862.22 points on Tuesday with a loss of 16.92points or 0.34 percent.
Besides, two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and Shariah index, DSES also went down by 3.13 points and 1.47 points to settle at 1696.40 points and 1131.37 points respectively.
On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 170,532 trades were executed in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 239.72 million securities.
On the other hand, DSE’s turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, stood at Taka 7.77 billion from Taka 11.66 billion in the previous session.
Losers took lead over gainers as out of 355 issues traded, 139 securities gained price while 179 declined and 37 remained unchanged.
The market-cap of DSE decreased to Taka 3,687 billion which was Taka 3,698 billion in the previous session.
The top 10 gainers were Anlima Yarn, Anwar Galvanizing, Desh Garments, Samata Leather, Miracle Industries, Express Insurance, Sonargaon Textile, BDCom Online, BD Finance and ACI Formulation.
Beximco Pharma topped the turnover chart followed by Beximco Limited, Brac Bank, Grameenphone, Orion Pharma, Express Insurance,Square Pharma, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, BATBC and BD Finance.
The top ten losers were Shyampur Sugar, Zeal Bangla Sugar, ICB 3rd NRB, NCCBL Mutual Fund 1, IFIL ISL Mutual Fund 1, Prime Bank 1 ICB AMCL Mutual Fund, United Air, BD Welding, ICB AMCL First Agrani Bank Mutual Fund and CAPM BDBL Mutual Fund.
On the other hand, port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed trading at red from the gaining streak in previous foursessions.
CSCX and CASPI declined by 31.23 points and 49.13 points to stand at 8369.43 points and 13869.00 points respectively.
At CSE, a total of 9,053,421 and mutual funds of 265 companies were traded, of which 94 issues advanced while 124 declined and 47 issues remained unchanged.
