Rajshahi, March 15 – Rajshahi University students on Sunday formed a human chain in front of the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Senate building of the university demanding closure of the university to remain safe from novel coronavirus (COVID-19). They were carrying placards with the message ‘we want the campus closed’, ‘we want to be safe from coronavirus” at the human chain.
Speakers said at the human chain, ‘The university authority hasn’t taken any steps yet to prevent coronavirus. But we want to be safe from the novel coronavirus and we are conscious enough. So we demand the campus closed.’
‘There are around forty thousand students in the campus from different departments. They crowd to take foods and to gossip many populous places in the campus including the central cafeteria, Tukitaki chattar. If any student will get infected with the virus then the virus will spread rapidly. So, we want the university to be closed, they said.
Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) is spreading day by day around the world. The virus has already spread to 109 countries.
Meanwhile, five persons have been infected with coronavirus in Bangladesh till now, they came from Italy. They have been diagnosed with the virus. – RU Correspondent
