A total of 250 poor but meritorious students, who will appear in the SSC and Dakhil exams-2015, received grant of Taka five lakh from Nahid Foundation (NF) on Wednesday to fill up their examination forms.The grant was distributed among the students of different institutions of the district by the NF as part of its social corporate responsibility,foundation sources said.A simple ceremony was also held on the occasion at the auditorium of Zilla Parishad (ZP) here yesterday with executive member of the foundation freedom fighter Anwarul Quadir Ful Miah in the chair.Administrator of ZP Advocate Syed Shams-ul-Alam Hiru attended the function as the chief guest.The function was also addressed, among others, by general secretary of NF Shahiduzzaman Shahid, members Gobinda Lal Das and Waziur Rahman Raphel.Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Syed Shams-ul-Alam Hiru thanked the NF for standing beside the poor and meritorious students to help them fill up their forms for coming SSC and Dakhil exams.Each student received TK 2,000 for the purpose.Heads of academic institutions, teachers, guardians and media men attended the function.-BSS, Gaibandha
