Dhaka – Bangladeshi swimmer Najma Khatun completed her engagement in the ongoing Gold Coast Commonwealth Games with dismal performances in both of her events at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre in Australia on Saturday.Najma, a swimmer from Kushtia, finished 28th among 29 swimmers in the women’s 50 meter butterfly with a timing of 32.96 seconds on Saturday. She finished 4th among the five competitors in heats.
Earlier on Friday, Najma finished 37th among 40 competitors in the 50-meter freestyle clocking 31.10 seconds.
Bangladesh’s most prospective shooting event will begin Sunday at the Belmont Shooting Centre.
Bangladeshi shooters Rabbi Hasan Munna, Risalatul Islam will compete in men’s 10-meter air rifles qualifications while Armin Asha in the women’s 10-meter air pistol. UNB
