Tahir to play 100th ODI

Dhaka- Veteran leg-spinner Imran Tahir is going to play his 100th One day International (ODI) match when he appears for South Africa in their second match of ICC World Cup 2019 against Bangladesh at Kennington Oval in London on Sunday.
Tahir, who made his ODI debut in ICC World Cup 2011 at Delhi on February 24 against West Indies, will become the second Proteas spinner after Nicky Boje to achieve this feat.
The 40-year-old Tahir picked up 164 wickets with 4.64 economy rate from 99 ODI matches.
He holds a record for best ODI bowling figure 7-45 for South Africa.
Tahir also picked up 57 wickets from 20 Tests and 63 wickets from 38 T20Is.
The match against Bangladesh is Tahir’s second match of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019.
South Africa lost the opening match of the event to hosts England by 104 runs at the same venue on May 30.UNB
