Dhaka – CM Manon Reja Neer of Bangladesh finished runner-up in the 28th The Telegraph School’s Chess Championship 2019 securing 7.5 points after the 9th and last round matches held in Kolkata, India on Wednesday.
Kazi Zarin Tasnim became 17th while WFM Noshin Anjum finished 21st securing 7 points each. CM Neer, Zarin and WFM Noshin are the students of Elegant International Chess Academy.
In the day’s last round games, CM Neer beat Pratyay Chowdhury of India, Zarin beat Shresth Mahapatra of India while WFM Noshin beat Sagnik Saha of India. A total of 466 players from Bangladesh, India and Nepal participated in the event. UNB
