Ten villages flooded in Lalmohan

High tide water of the Meghna flooded some ten villages of Dhigournagour and Lord Hardinge unions of Lalmohan upazila in Bhola district for the fourth time. About 5000 families of these two unions are suffering a miserable life as a result. Most of the people have left their houses and taken their shelters in their relatives’ houses.Local sources said that the dam of Kalambulla and Kunderhawla area of Dhaligournagour union was damaged two years earlier. As a result, water easily enters when river water level registers a rise. The names of the seriously affected villages are Kuderhawla, Kalambulla, Chatla, Patoarir Hat of Dhaligournagour union and Latur char, Purba Syadabad, Char Denali, Purba Lord Hardinge of Lord Hardinge union. It has been learnt that Tk 106 crore has been allotted from the government to save Lalmohan and Tazumuddin areas from the river erosion bu the work is yet to be started. – Our Correspondent
