Dhaka, Dec 23 – The Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges has imposed a ban on all kinds of vehicles including motorcycles on the December 30 general election day. The ministry issued the communiqué on this on Sunday. In the communiqué, the authorities said all motor vehicles including public and private transports have been banned on December 30 only.
Besides, ban on motorcycles will be on for three days from December 28 midnight to January 1, 2019 midnight.
Among the vehicles Baby Taxi, Auto Rickshaw, EasyBike, Taxi Cab, Microbus, Zip, Pickup, Car, Bus, Truck and Tempoo.
However, this ban will not be applied to the observers who got the permission from the returning officer. In this case, the observers should have identity cards.
Besides, the ban also will not apply domestic and foreign journalists, officers and employees engaged in electioneering, law enforcing agencies, legal inspectors in the election, ambulance, fire service, electricity, gas, postal and telecommunication vehicles. – Staff Reporter
