Parliament on Monday passed Bangladesh Travel Agency (Registration and Control) Bill 2013 by keeping provision for sixth months of jail and Tk 50,000 fine for violating travel agency rules by the agencies.The bill piloted by Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Faruk Khan was passed in voice vote.
Independent lawmaker Fazlul Azim had deposited proposal scrutiny of the bill but he did not take part in the discussion.
Meanwhile, three bills were placed before the House on Monday and those were sent to the respective standing committee.
Minister for Education Nurul Islam Nahid produced Barisal University (Amendment) Bill-2013 and Comilla University (Amendment) Bill 2013 while State Minister for Industries Omor Faruk Chowdhury placed Law for Enriching of Vitamin “A” in edible oil.
