Treeman undergoes dressing change

Dhaka – The dressing on the right hand of ‘Tree Man’, Abul Bajandar, which was operated upon due to a rare skin disease, was changed at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Saturday.
Chief Coordinator of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery Dr Samanta Lal Sen told UNB that they put new dressing on Bajandar’s right hand successfully.

Dr Samanta also said his condition is now better than before.
On February 20, Bajandar underwent a successful surgery on all five fingers of his right hand separately without any complications. Later, the doctors completed the dressing of his hand effectively.
A similar operation will be performed on his left hand three weeks after the first surgery, said the coordinator.
Dubbed as a ‘Tree Man’ because of wart-like lesions growing on his hands and feet, Abul Bajandar is the fourth such patient in the world to be suffering from a rare Dermo Epidermal Dysplasia disease for the last 15 years.
A six-member medical board, headed by head of the DMCH Burn and Plastic Surgery unit Prof Dr Md Abul Kalam, was formed earlier for the treatment of the youth.- Agencies
