Two-day Rabindra festival begins in city Nov 27

A two-day “Rabindra Utshab” (Rabindra Festival) will begin at the National Museum in the city on November 27 (Tuesday).“Rabindra Academy is organising the festival where Rabindra Sangeet Singer Fahmida Khatun will get honorary award at a ceremony,” Rabindra Academy’s General Secretary Bulbul Mahalanibash told  journalists. National Professor Anisuzzaman will inaugurate the festival while Prime Minister’s International Affairs Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi will attend the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest.
Moreover, with Rabindra Academy President Azizur Rahaman Aziz in the chair, the opening ceremony will be addressed by Dhaka University (DU) Pro-Vice-Chancellor (VC) Muhammad Samad as the special guest, Mahalanibash said.
On the second day of the festival, DU Vice-Chancellor Md Akhtaruzzaman is expected to present as the chief guest.
The festival features several Rabindranath-related seminars, discussions, Rabindra songs, dance and cultural shows.
Rabindra experts from Bangladesh and India will take part in all the seminars and discussions to be held during the festival, he added.
