Rajshahi, March 12 – Police arrested two Rajshahi University students from Shah Makhdum (SM) hall of the university on Wednesday night over alleged rape a girl. The arrestees were sent to jail through court, according to the Motihar police station officer-in-charge Masud Parvej’s speech. The arrestees are Public Administration department 2014-15 session student Zahid Hasan and Sociology department same batch student Torun Kundu.
According to the case statement, The victim was being taught by Zahid personally on February 15 to prepare for admission test at a place next to the Shah Makhdum (SM) hall of the university. Later he brought the victim to Torun Kundu’s sister’s house near Commerce College at around 12.30 pm saying he would have a chat with her.
Later, Zahid raped the girl at a room in the house. Zahid asked the girl not to tell anybody about the matter and promised to marry her. But later, Zahid did not agree to marry the girl and victim’s father filed a case against Zahid and Torun in Motihar police station last night.
OC Masud Parvej told this reporter that the victim’s father filed a case against them at around 10.30 pm on Wednesday. Later they were arrested at around 1.30 am from Shah Makhdum hall of the university and sent to jail on Thursday noon. – RU Correspondent
