Ulema Dal leader Quashemi dies from coronavirus

Dhaka June 20 – Moulana Deen Mohammad Quashemi, former publicity affairs secretary of BNP’s associate body Jatiyatabadi Ulema Dal, died from coronavirus on Friday. He was 52. He breathed his last around 9:50 am at Dr Sirajul Islam Medical College Hospital in the capital while undergoing treatment for coronavirus infections, said BNP chairperson’s media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
He said Quashemi was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday with breathing problem as he tested positive for coronavirus last week.
Sayrul said the deceased is survived by his wife, three sons and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
He said Quashemi’s body was taken to his village home in Noakhali’s Sonaimuri for burial.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and standing committee member Moudud Ahmed expressed deep shock at his death.
In separate condolence messages, they prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed their profound sympathy to the bereaved family members. – UNB
